How to Win the Lottery

What would you do if you won a million dollars tomorrow?  Buy a boat?  Quit your job?  What if I told you I know the answer?

Win the Lottery

So what would you do if you won a million dollars?  The answer is pretty simple.  You’d do the same things you already do with your current paycheck.

Yes, that’s right.  Not much would change for you no matter how much you “think” it would.  It’s all in the attitude you have with money.

Do you want to win the lottery or become a millionaire?  Let’s look at 3 ways you can win the lottery for sure.

#1: Master your thoughts.

If you want to win the lottery, you must be master of your mind.  I think that James Allen says it well in his book As a Man Thinketh:

You see, when we master our thoughts, we can become a lottery winner.  We can take on the challenges of our jobs with new visions to become more successful.  One thought at a time. Success.

Don’t waste your time and money buying lottery tickets just hoping to guess right and win big. You won’t be any different if you indeed do happen to win.  If you aren’t smart with your money now, having more isn’t going to make you any smarter.

#2: Seek wise counsel.

If you want to win the lottery, you must seek wise counsel.  I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase, No man is an island, and it’s true.

We cannot live our lives completely independent from any other person’s influence.  So, if we are going to be influenced by those closest to us, let’s make sure that we are seeking out wise counsel.

If it’s true that we are most like the 5 people we spend time with, then I believe we probably even earn around the same amount that those 5 people earn.  Have you ever thought about that?

What if all it takes to win the lottery or get a significant raise is to start hanging around those that earn more income than you do?

Isn’t it worth a shot?  I’d say your chances are better than actually winning the lottery.

#3: Take consistent action.

I would love to tell you that if you consistently keep playing the lottery and choosing the same numbers, you will eventually win!  But, I’d be mistaken because the lottery really is up to chance!  There’s no guarantee your numbers will ever be drawn.

So, if you want to win the lottery, why do I suggest taking consistent action?  Consistent action in what?

Take consistent action in your dreams.  If you can daydream about what life would be like to win the lottery, you can take consistent action this week on those dreams.

Do you want a better car?  A better house?  To go on a nice vacation?  Start taking action towards those dreams now!  Don’t wait to “win it big” because you may never actually do that.

And truthfully, if you want to play the lottery, go ahead!  Have fun and buy a ticket every now and then.  Just make sure your bills are paid, food is on the table, and you are in good health.

So, play the lottery, and I hope you win!  But I really hope you win at your own life first.  That way, I know that nothing is impossible for you.  You just need a little more time to reach the stars!

*Try 07-10-08-16-58-21.  Who knows?  It may actually work!  I’d ask you to let me know if those are the winning numbers, but I’m sure you’ll have more important things to do if you win!

Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize?  So run to win! – 1 Corinthians 9:24

This is a great post, and ironically something I’ve thought about often. People put more faith in lottery tickets than they do themselves. With every ticket purchases or every ticket scratched they think this is it, I can just feel it. Yet sadly, sadly they don’t take that same approach with their own. I guess you could say they would rather bet on the lottery than bet on themselves.

Thanks Marques! And yes, I do see people bet more on the lottery than on their own potential.
